Feel free to comment, let me know you’ve been here.

“And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same.” ~ Marianne Williamson

This little light of mine, I’m gonna let it shine.
This little light of mine, I’m gonna let it shine.
This little light of mine, I’m gonna let it shine;

Let it shine, let it shine, let it shine!
~written by unknown (gospel song)

When we look at one another, we are more apt to judge them before allowing them to show who they really are. I do this, I am human and to be human I make mistakes. I know that others do this to me as well, but they’re not so secretive about it. “Lard ass,” and “Whale” are two things I’ve heard quite often; and this is by the general public. We all judge one another. Often said that we judge others in a negative light by what we feel is negative about who we are inside. We project onto others what we despise about ourselves.

After being judged, name called, one begins to believe it eventually. Each time we fall prey to believing the negativity, we extinguish our true inner light. Part of this journey I am on is to change that belief, reverse those actions, and learn to love my internal flame. When I start to let my inner light shine, I will in turn start to notice the positivity in others.

Today, I am thankful for the fading glimmer of light I own.
